Grill Fuji
A moment to unwind in the city.
Grill Fuji is an easygoing neighborhood fixture near Itabashikuyakusho-mae, serving made-to-order deep-fries, cheese-filled cutlets, comforting omurice, and flexible toppings.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Just off the intersection heading from Itabashikuyakusho-mae Station toward Nakajuku, Grill Fuji is the kind of neighborhood yoshoku restaurant you seek out when you want a genuinely filling meal. Inside, table and counter seating create a calm, approachable setting suited to an easy lunch or an after-work dinner on your own, whether you want a full set meal or a few savory plates.
The real draw of the menu is the array of deep-fried specialties and meat dishes, each fried only after the order is placed. The cheese chicken katsu, generously stuffed with cheese, and the cheese menchi katsu packed with savory meat juices are crowd favorites, served with towering heaps of shredded cabbage for substantial satisfaction. Fried oysters make a seasonal appearance as a set meal, alongside daily mixed fry assortments that bring together items like breaded prawns and scallops so you can enjoy the crisp, freshly fried aromatics in full.
The freedom to tailor rice dishes and noodles is another pleasure here. Nostalgic standards like chicken-rice-filled omurice and classic Neapolitan spaghetti—tossed simply with bacon, onion, and green bell pepper—deliver pure comfort. Add any of the toppings posted on the wall, such as a hamburg steak so tender it gives way under chopsticks, a menchi katsu, or a creamy prawn croquette, and your dish becomes a customized feast.
Most set meals and rice offerings come with miso soup and pickled vegetables. The drinks list covers bottled beer and shochu sours, with a la carte options like Japanese fried chicken and folded omelets readily available. Payment is strictly cash only, so it is wise to carry enough yen when planning a visit.
